Information We Do Not Collect

ReceiptChat does not collect personally identifiable information. Specifically:

We do not collect your name, email address, or account information.
We do not collect device identifiers or advertising IDs.
We do not require an account or login to use the app.
We do not use cookies or tracking technologies.

Anonymous Usage Data

ReceiptChat collects anonymous usage data through third-party analytics services to help us improve the app. This data may include:

App version and device type.
Feature usage patterns (e.g., which questions are most popular).
Crash reports and performance metrics.
General interaction patterns.

This data is completely anonymous and cannot be used to identify you. It contains no receipt content, merchant names, amounts, or any personal financial information.

Receipt Data

All receipt images and extracted data (merchant names, totals, dates, categories, line items) are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is:

Never transmitted to our servers or any third-party service.
Never shared with advertisers or data brokers.
Never included in analytics data.
Included in your device's iCloud Backup if you have iCloud Backup enabled (controlled by Apple and your device settings).

On-Device AI Processing

ReceiptChat uses Apple Intelligence (Foundation Models framework) to extract information from receipt images. This AI processing happens entirely on your device:

Receipt text is extracted using Apple's Vision framework (on-device OCR).
Structured data is parsed using Apple's on-device language model.
No receipt data is sent to cloud AI services.

Camera and Photo Library Access

ReceiptChat requests access to your camera and photo library solely for the purpose of capturing and importing receipt images. These images are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded or transmitted.

Data Storage and Deletion

All receipt data is stored locally on your device. You can:

Delete individual receipts at any time from within the app.
Delete all data by uninstalling the app.

Offline Functionality

ReceiptChat is designed to work entirely offline. The app requires no internet connection for core functionality including scanning, parsing, and querying receipts. Network access is only used for optional analytics and App Store updates.

Children's Privacy

ReceiptChat does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not collect information from any user.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Since we do not collect any user data, we have no way to notify you directly of changes.
